Earl R. Simpson, 34, former Janesville resident, died at 6:45 p.m. Monday in St. Charles Hospital, Aurora, Ill., where he had been a patient for four days. Since Feb. 1 he had managed the Scott Store in Aurora, having been associated with the Scott Stores, Co., for the past six years. Previously he was associated with the S.S. Kresge Co. in Janesville for five years. During World War II he served in Italy and Africa with the Air Force. Mr. Simpson, son of Guy and Estelle Smelcer Simpson, was born in Richland Center Jan. 4, 1924. He was graduated from Janesville High School in 1942. Mr. Simpson and Elizabeth Timm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Timm, Footville, were married in Janesville April 4, 1943. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 59 in Gooding, Idaho.
