She was born January 15, 1916 in Rensselaer, the daughter of James Roscoe and Nancy Ethel Hopkins Garriott. She married Glen Cripe December 28, 1945 in Fowler. He preceded her in death October 13, 1984.
She was raised in Warren County and graduated from Williamsport High School. She graduated from Lafayette Business College. She had lived most of her life in Attica.
She had worked for Farmers Central Bank in West Lebanon and for 25 years she worked as a teller and bookkeeper for Central National Bank in Attica. She was a member of Attica Eagles Lodge #2596. She had attend the Attica Free Methodist Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Cindy (Charles) VanHyfte, Lafayette; a son, Max (Mary) Cripe, Attica; two sister; two brothers; four grandchildren, Mandi (Steve) Hakes, Brian (Denise) VanHyfte, Vicki (Doug) Willis and Gabe Cripe; and four great-grandchildren, Dusty and Brent VanHyfte and Zachary and Jacob Willis.
