W. Edgar Meeker, a former resident of Muscatine County who was born and raised in Seventy-Six township, died Wednesday morning at his home in Clinton after a short illness, relatives here have been informed.

Mr. Meeker was born March 15, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Meeker. He continued to make his home in Seventy-Six township until 1906 when he moved to Clinton. He was employed as a railroad engineer on the Nortwestern railroad.

He married Fern Nichols, of Washington, Ia., in 1902.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Martha Mae; three brothers, Harry of Muscatine, Carl of Lone Tree, and Howard of Cedar Rapids; and one sister, Miss Myrtle Meeker, of Chicago. One brother, George, died in Denver several years ago.

Funeral services will be conducted in Clinton Saturday morning, following which the body will be brought here for short services at the Cranston church, Saturday, at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be made in the Cranston cemetery.

W. Edgar Meeker, a former resident of Muscatine County who was born and raised in Seventy-Six township, died Wednesday morning at his home in Clinton after a short illness, relatives here have been informed.
