Born in Seventy-Six township Jan. 21, 1872, Mr. Meeker was the son of John W. and Harriet Gates Meeker. He moved to Waterloo several years ago to make his home with his son, Harold Meeker.
He married Rachel Fry and the couple engaged in farming. He was a member of the United Brethren church at Cranston.
Surviving are two sons, Harold Meeker of Waterloo, and Ralph Meeker of Bettendorf; a daughter Mrs. Raymond Bothell of Iowa City; a sister Miss Myrtle Meeker, Chicago; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, a son, five brothers and a sister.
The body will arrive later today at the George m. Wittich Funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
