On October 17, 1869, Edgar married Susan Augusta Carrie in Cobb County, GA. They had seven children.
E.C. Hulbert was a resident of Augusta for fifty-four years and was employed by the Southern Express Company.
EDGAR C. HULBERT HAS PASSED AWAY
The many friends of Mr. Edgar Crapon Hulbert will deeply regret to learn of his death, which occurred yesterday morning at 9 o'clock, at his residence, 224 Broad Street. Death followed one week's illness.
Mr. Hulbert was 76 years of age, and had resided in Augusta fifty-four years. For many years, he was connected with the Southern Express Company, retiring six years ago. He was held in the highest respect by all business men of the community.
The funeral services over the remains will be held this morning at 11 o'clock at the residence, Rev. William M. Vines officiating. Interment will be made in the City Cemetery.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Susan Hulbert, the deceased is survived by two sons, Messrs, Ben T. and Gaspard C. Hulbert; and three daughters, Mrs. Guy M. Bowen, Miss Leora Hulbert and Miss Angie Hulbert.
The following gentlemen have been requested to act as pallbearers; Messrs, Clem Castleberry, Harry Robinson, C.D. Elmore, E.P.H. Ruland, Charles Bowen and John B. Jones.
