Johnny Burrus Herring, 67, of 1316 Early St. died Saturday in a local hospital. He was the son of the late George Erman Herring and Lydia Shifflett Herring. He was a member of the Albemarle Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Barksdale Herring of Charlottesville; one daughter, Nancy B. Ferneyhough of Charlottesville; three sons, Mason B. Herring, Leon George Herring and Leo Thomas Herring all of Charlottesville; three sisters, Nellie H. Powell of Charlottesville, Gladys H. Sandridge of Palmyra, Va., Ollie H. Barksdale of Charlottesville; one brother, Sylvester Herring of Gordonsville, Va., 27 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Claude (Willie) Herring. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20th at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Teague & Hawkins Funeral Home, Ivy Road. The Rev.
