Mrs. Anna Gessert, 77, wife of Jacob D Gessert, of 105 W Mill Street, Plymouth, passed away Sunday morning after an illness of three months.
She was born in the town of New Holstein, Calumet county March 14, 1871, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Claus Edens, and was married to Mr. Gessert in New Holstein May 1, 1892. After their marriage the couple lived in the town of Rhine and the town of Plymouth before moving to the present home in Plymouth in March, 1914. Mrs. Gessert was a member of the Salem Evangelical and Reformed church of Plymouth and a pstprsdent of the Ladies Aid at the church.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, George of Plymouth, and Emil, of Sheboygan Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Emil (Elsie) Laack of the town of Lyndon; Mrs. Theodore (Edith) Villeneuve, of LaCrosse; and Mrs. Arthur (Luetta) Gerber and Mrs. Edwin (Althea) Juers, both of Plymouth; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Herman Edens of Davenport, Iowa; William Edens of West Allis; and Henry Edens of Freeport, Illinois. One daughter, Cora died in 1925, and a brother and sister also preceded Mrs. Gessert in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Salem Evangelical and Reformed church, Walter Waeckerie student pastor officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
