Ernst J. Edens passed away Sunday noon following a heart attack at his home in Town New Holstein.
Mr. Edens, 64, was born in Town New Holstein on November 26, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Edens. He was a lifelong resident on the homestead farm. On March 10, 1919, he was married to Katie M. Lisowe of New Holstein. The deceased was a member of the Equitable Reserve Association and the Farmers' Union. He served as chairman of Town New Holstein for ten years and was a member of the Calumet County board. He was a former director of the New Holstein Co-operative Shipping association and a former director of the Seven Corners Co-operative Cheese factory.
The survivors include the widow; three brothers, William of West Allis, Herman of Davenport, Ia., and Henry of Freeport, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Jacob (Anna) Gessert of Plymouth. A sister, Mary, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at the Erbe-Hoffman Funeral home in New Holstein by the Rev. Wesley J. Schuitema of Chilton Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in the New Holstein City Cemetery.
