Myrtle Elizabeth Dover Holcomb, 96, of Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away Saturday September 26, 2009 at a local nursing home.

A lifelong resident of the Catoosa County area she was a former employee of Sears where she worked for 12 years, and a lifelong, member of Boynton Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ for most of her life.

She is preceded in death by her Husband; John W. Holcomb, Father; James Dover, Mother; Carrie Elizabeth Harp Freenie and Daughter; Ann Beaver.

She is survived by Two Sons; Col. John Lamar Holcomb retired (Beverly) of Ft. Worth, TX., and Robert ‘Bob" Holcomb (Jan) of Chattanooga, TN., Eight Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday September 29, 2009 at Boynton Baptist Church with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating.

She will lie-in-state at the church from 1 P.M until 2 P.M. on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Anderson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Ringgold Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
