She was born June 30, 1924, in Gallatin County to Len and Emma Hammersma Verwolf. She graduated from Manhatttan High School. She married Duane Coleman on September 14, 1943, in Bozeman. She lived in Manhatttan, Nebraska, Seattle, Townsend and most recently in Helena. She enjoyed her family as well as crocheting and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; her parents; and two sisters, including Dina Heath who died March 28, 1993, in Spokane, Washington.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ron MacLennan and Sandra and Larry Westfall, all of Helena and Janine Lyon of Bozeman; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Lydia Coleman of Trinidad, Colorado, Gary and Christine Coleman of Seattle and Mike and Cindy Coleman of Bozeman; sisters, Judy Raser of Stevensville, Margaret Campbell, Bertha Metcalf and Betty Jean Julian, all of Manhattan and Helen Holderby of Walla Walla, Washington; a brother, Barney Verwolf of Florence; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Deep Creek Cemetery in Townsend with Rev. Ken Moore officiating. Interment will be at Deep Creek Cemetery. Connors Funeral Home of Townsend is in charge of arrangements.
