He was a son to Gerhard and Bernadina (Wabler) Clune. On Apr 26, 1893, he married his first wife, Katherine Dabbelt. She then died and on Nov 19, 1902, he married Josephine Schroeder, who also preceded him in death. On Apr 24, 1906, he married for the last time to Anna Ashman, who survived him.
Also surviving are four sons, Herbert, Alphonse, Carl and Lucas, all Chickasaw; five daughters, Mrs. William Gerlach, Cartagena, and Mrs. Joseph Hein, Lucille, Agnes and Esther, all of Chickasaw; two brothers, George, Minster, and Joseph, Celina; two sisters, Mary Meyer, Dayton, and Katherine Kroger, South Bend, IN; and seven grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, John; and two daughters, Rose and Anna.
He was a well known and highly respected citizen and was one of Marion Township's progressive farmers. He was an excellent neighbor, a member of the Married Men's Society of the Chickasaw parish, and had been a lifelong and consistent member of the Catholic Church. He was greatly esteemed by a large acquaintance who mourn his departure and extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.
Funeral services were held at the Precious Blood church, Chickasaw, with Rev. M. H. Hinssen officiating Requiem High Mass.
