Funeral services for Robert E. Hottel, 85, were Tuesday morning at East Main Church of Christ. Foy Forehand officiated and burial was in Green Hill Cemetery, Davis. Hottel died Nov. 18 at Artesian Nursing Home, Sulphur.
A retired rancher and farmer, Hottel had lived east of Davis since 1934. He was born Dec. 29, 1899 at Stratford, and married Julia Dulworth Oct. 10, 1925 in Stratford.
Survivors include his wife, Julia, of the home; four daughters, Bobby Sue Hardisty, Norman, Peggy Jane Strom, new Orleans, LA, Doris May Hopper, San Antonio, TX, and Sally Ann Schweikhard, Tulsa; two sons, Charles L. Hottel, Davis, and James Bruce Hottel, Sherman, TX;
Eight sisters, Haddie Payne, Don Willis and Susie Wood, all of Stratford, Bessie White of Sulphur, Bertha Jackson of Wynnewood, Ila Childs of Pauls Valley, Verda Brown of Moore, and Anna B. Nichols of Bethany; seven brothers, Glenn of California, John and George of Stratford, Louie of Tulsa, Joe and Hughes of Purcell and Paul of El Reno; 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
One son, Rex, preceded him in death in 1969. One brother, Frank, also preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were C. E. Tate, Oscar Grider, Eddy Miller, Jerry Lancaster, Fred Dale, Othor Chaffin, James Pope and Jimmy Dale.
