Susie Wood of Stratford, Oklahoma was born August 29, 1919 in Stratford, Oklahoma to George Thomas Hottel and Annie Bell (Perkins) Hottel. She passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at the age of 98 years 2 months and 16 days.

She graduated Stratford high school. Jakie and Nora Jean Mann set her up on a blind date with Lowell Wood, and the rest is history they were married on June 9, 1942 in Clifton, Arizona. They made their home in Stratford and raised a family, she worked as a cook for the school and was the dispatcher for the town of Stratford police, fire and ambulance service until retiring at the age of 80. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Stratford Round up Club, FFA Mother's club, PTA, and Cub scout Den Mother. She was known to everyone in our little community and loved by all that knew her. You never saw her without that sweet smile. She will be missed.

Preceded by; her husband Lowell on November 26, 1992, sixteen brothers and sisters, one infant daughter, DeAnna Kay, One granddaughter Cassie, one great-granddaughter Amanda, one great-grandson Tyler, one great-great-grandson Dalton.

Survived by; three sons; Leslie Wood & wife Donna, and Gerald Wood, of Stratford; Greg Wood & wife Carolyn of Ardmore, Ok; five daughters; Sue Brown & husband Don, Nelda Lee & husband Jimmy, Nancy Pike & husband Bud, Debbie Korzan & husband Jim all of Stratford, and Marsha Milligan & husband Lindell of Pernell, Oklahoma. One brother Hughes Hottel of Purcell, Oklahoma; one sister Annie B. Nichols of Bethany, Oklahoma.
Thirty Five Grandchildren, eighty one great-grandchildren, twenty three great-great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild on the way.

Services; 10:00 AM Friday November 17, 2017 at the Church of Christ Stratford, Officiating Bill Jones. Burial McGee Cemetery Stratford, Oklahoma.
