Mrs. Margaret Wehlage, who lived almost her entire life in Breese, died at her home in the southwest part of this city, Thursday, April 8, 1943, after a lingering illness. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kramer, whe was born in Wheatfield Township, Ill., November 16, 1871, therefore reaching the age of 71 years 4 months and 24 days. She lived in Wheatfield township until 4 years of age, when the family moved to Breese. She was united in marriage on Oct. 24, 1893 in St. Dominic Catholic Church to Frank Wehlage, by the late Rev. August Reinecke. To this union three daughters were born, namely; Mrs. Anna Middeke and Miss Frances Wehlage of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Gesina Holthaus of Ft. Wayne, Ind., all of whom survive. She is also survived by two grandchildren and other relatives. Her husband, Frank W. Wehlage, preceded her in death on February 19, last, when he met with accidental and instant death, being struck by a fast Baltimore and Ohio train at the Clinton Street crossing. Throughout her long illness, Mrs. Wehlage bore her suffering with patience and fortitude.

The funeral services were held on Monday morning, April 12, at 9 a.m. from St.Augustines Catholic Church of which she was a faithful member, with Rev. Aloys Eckert, the pastor, officiating. Internment was in St. Dominic Cemetery, Breese. The pallbearers were: Hy. Schoendist, Henry Werth, Erwin Raeber, Edward Venhaus, Herman Huelskamp and Julius Coers.
