* The seven Reed inscriptions above, three Gay, one Cotter and one Sheldon, appearing elsewhere in this list, all of which are preceded by a marginal (R), are properly included in this index, although the stones from which they were taken are not now standing. About 1898 they were taken up and piled in a lot near the Wells Hill Track, on the cross road from Horace Landon's to Wells' Farm House. In their stead a granite block was placed in the Cemetery, on which all the names and dates (years only) were placed. The data given here was taken from the original stones in 1898. M. D. R.
