On June 8, 1820, James Smith, Rebecca's father, gave leave that Daniel Stockton might get a license to marry Rebecca, witnessed by George Smith, Rebecca's grandfather. George Smith was surety for £50 for the marriage of Rebecca and Daniel on June 10, 1820.

When Rebecca was born Stockton's Valley was in Cumberland County, Kentucky. In 1836 this area become part of the newly formed Clinton County, Kentucky. Rebecca was born in Stockton's Valley and died in Stockton's Valley.

On June 15, 1878, Rebecca Stockton, now the widow of Daniel, applied for a pension for Daniel's service in the War of 1812. Daniel was a private in Captain William Wood's Company of Colonel James Wilson's Regiment.
