On December 1, 1921 Vernice married Bernice Freeman in McCulloch County, Texas. To this union was born the following children: Vaughan A., Wandalean and Larry L. Pate.
Vernice and Bernice lived in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
They raised cattle and established some good blood lines. Their cattle were in great demand throughout several states.
Even though Vernice was raised by a Baptist Preacher, he became Church of Christ due to his wife's faith. They were members of The Church of Christ in Ringgold, Louisiana.
They were the most wonderful couple you would want to meet.
They displayed lots of love for all who knew them.
