Dark haired star of silent films. Briscoe began as a child actress on stage. In 1909 she entered the fledgling motion picture industry with Essanay. After a brief period with IMP, she became a member of the Lubin Stock Company. She was teamed with matinee idol Arthur V. Johnson in a series of popular short films. Their many joint appearances include "The Preacher and the Gossips" (1912), "His Niece From Ireland" (1913), and the 15 episode serial "The Beloved Adventurer" (1914). With Johnson's sudden death in 1916, Lottie's starring days were over. She later played in vaudeville, and radio programs. Married to Harry Mountford, the actress died of an undisclosed illness at her home in Manhattan. Her husband died three months later. They were both cremated at Fresh Pond Crematory in Long Island, Queens. BIO PROVIDED BY: Jim Trottier.
