Elizabeth "Betsy" Bryan Forbes was born in New Bern, Craven Co., NC, in 1793; died in New Bern, Craven Co., NC, February 22, 1822. (information from Corey Patterson)
Elizabeth Forbes was the daughter of John Council Bryan.
She married May 13, 1809, Stephen B. Forbes, a merchant of New Bern.

Mr. Forbes, to the best of my recollection, also married a Miss Bryan, and subsequently a Miss Tisdale [married in Craven Co., North Carolina, March 12, 1823, Ann Maria Tisdale, b. NC 1802, d. 1855; ref. LDS Family Search].
His son, Edward M. Forbes, became an Episcopal clergyman, and n February, 1844, delivered a sermon in Mobile before the Hon. Henry Clay, who was in the audience.
A daughter of Mr. S. B. Forbes married Major George Bush Burgwyn Clitherall, who was Secretary of the Alabama Senate in 1845, and more recently in the Quartermaster's department in the Confederate Army.
