ST. GEORGE, Utah--Velma Parker Sims, age 82, died Thursday, January 2, 1992 at the St. George Care Center.

She was born Jan. 17, 1909 at Alberta, Canada to James S. and Ruthena Davids Parker. She married John C. Hadley in 1929; he preceded her in death in October, 1963. She married Elmer L. Sims, Dec. 2, 1965 at Elko, Nevada. Mrs. Sims was educated in the Salt Lake City Schools and lived there until coming to St. George in 1971. Mrs. Sims worked as president of Hadley Transfer/Storage Company until she sold it in 1975. She has served as past president of LOE Lodge #85 and past president of Utah Motor Transport Association - Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving family members include her husband, Elmer, St. George; one grandson, Robert Hadley, Salt Lake City; two great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother, Mary Fehr, Roy, Wash.; Thora Hardin, San Gabriel, Calif.; Berta Rodgers, Clearlake Oaks, Calif.; and Delbert Parker, Woodland.

Graveside services will be Monday, Jan. 6, 1992, 2 p.m. at the St. George City Cemetery. Friends may call at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. prior to services.
