At age 21 she married Stephen E. Reller on Tues. Sept. 28, 1897 in Meire Grove. They had ten children, Margaret Maria, born in 1898, Bernard Stephen, born in, 1900, Joseph Francis, born in 1901, John Henry, born in 1903, Edward John, born in, 1905, Ferdinand Anton, born in 1909, Herman Joseph, born in 1911, Anthony Stephen born in 1913, Maria Adelaid, born Apr. 28, 1916 (died Apr. 30, 1916) and Raymond George, born in 1917.
Gerhardena was hospitalized for seven days at Community Hospital in Baudette, MN. She died on Mon. Mar. 9, 1953 at 5:00 AM, at the age of 76. Her death was caused by Uremia, which she had for four weeks, due to arteriosclerosis and hypertensive heart disease. Her doctor was Allen G. Janicky, M.D.
According to her grandson, Richard Reller, she also had a cancer on the side of her nose.
The funeral service was held on Thurs. Mar. 12th at 9:30 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Fr. Leonard E. Weber, pastor of the church officiating. She is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackduck, MN. Arrangements were made through Kolden Funeral Home.
