J. M. Toy was born in New Holland, Ohio, on Sept. 8th, 1845, and died at his residence, 718 East Main street, in this city, Dec. 7th. He had been ill for several weeks, but every symptom seemed to indicate a decided improvement up until within an hour of his death, which doubt less was a result cf heart failure. He was a soldier in the Civil war, a private in Co. I in the 77th regiment of Ills. Volunteers, where he served for about two years. He was married to Miss Sarah Elizabeth Hay in Atlantic City, Iowa, August 12th, To this union was born Dr. J. Toy, of DeRidder, La, Mrs. Mabel Davis of Parsons, Ross C Toy, of Parsons and Roy F Toy, of Tulsa. Okla Two daughters. Myrtle, and Maud E, are deceased There are five grand children, two brothers and five sisters He came to this community 32 years ago, and by real worth has won to himself a host of friends. He was of a retiiring disposition, with high ideals of ,honor. devoted to his family. The: funeral services were conducted at. the family residence this afternoon' .at 2:30 by Rev E. L. Combs.
