Services were held on 8 May 1982 at the Hamilton Street Church of Christ in Olney with Ed Jones and Jerome Savage, local ministers officiating.

Oscar Boyd, Jr married Beatrice Goldsmith in 1949. The couple moved to Possum Kingdom Lake in 1979 moving there from Littlefield where they had lived for 17 years.

Mr. Boyd was a railroad employee, a member of the VFW, the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. Mr. Boyd served in the US Army during World War II.

Survived by his wife; three daughters - Patricia Arglye, Donna Chandler, Ovida Minkley; three sons - Elton Boyd, Meredyth Boyd, Samm Boyd; one brother - Sam Boyd; two sisters - Jean Howard and Gussie Watkins; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
