Pearl G. Bird, 93, Bismarck, died Sept. 14, 2006, at the Baptist Home, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at the Baptist Home Chapel, with the Rev. Clyde Leimberer officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and continues one hour prior to services at the Baptist Home.

Pearl was born Dec. 12, 1912, at Timmer, to Lawrence and Alice (Iverson) Bratton. She was raised and educated in the Shields/Timmer area. On Nov. 1, 1931, she married Ted R. Bird in Flasher. She was a cowgirl who loved to ride horses. They lived on a farm near Timmer and later Mandan, where Ted worked as a carpenter. He passed away in 1983. Pearl loved to cook, garden and sew. She made many quilts for her family. She moved into the Baptist Home in January 2006.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Alice June and Tony Schaeffer, Waverly, Neb.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dale R. Bird, Florence, Colo., and Ray and Norma Bird and Bob and Nancy Bird, all of Bismarck; one sister, Ethel Fallis, Bellingham, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Fern and Viola; three brothers, Everette, Bob and Billy; her grandson, Danny; her great-grandson, Andrew; and her daughter-in-law, Patricia.
