MARY FRANCES GILMOUR was the third child and first daughter of ALEXANDER MARSHALL GILMOUR and SARAH (BEATTY) GILMOUR Gilmour. She was born in Warren County, Illinois on 30 August 1856 and shortly after her birth her parents moved the family to Benton Township, Adair County, Missouri and she resided there with her parents at the time of both the 1860 and 1870 U.S. Census reports and until about 1880 when she moved to nearby Linn County, Missouri and met her first husband.

She married her first husband, GEORGE FRANKLIN GREINER [b. 1852 - d. 1901], on 2 Mar 1880 in Chapman, Merrick County, Nebraska and they became the parents of daughter, OTTIE MINERVA GREINER on 26 May 1881 who was born in Kirksville, Adair County, MO. They settled in Kirksville, Adair County, MO and MARY and her daughter OTTIE continued to reside there after GEORGE FRANKLIN GREINER disappeared.
2. MARY FRANCES (GILMOUR) GREINER married her second husband, a widower, JAMES McCALL [b. 1844 - 1944] on 16 Aug 1892 in Kirksville, Adair County, MO and they remained there until their deaths. He died in 1924 and she died on 21 October 1944.
