Mrs. Sarah E. Rowell, 86, died Thursday afternoon (September 17, 2009) in the Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation of Douglas following an extended illness.
She was a native and life-long resident of Manor. She was the wife of the late Howard Arley Rowell and daughter of the late John Mack Corbitt and Sarah Jane Wildes Corbitt.
She was the former owner of Rowell's Service Station in Manor and attended the Victory Methodist Church and the Women's Missionary Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Spivey (husband Ron) of Pearson; three sons, Billy Rowell (wife Marie), Roger Rowell , and Johnny Rowell (wife Vickie) all of Manor; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday (September 20, 2009) in the Music Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Camp Branch Providence Cemetery of Manor. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday at Music Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation Resident Activity Fund, 1310 West Gordon St., Douglas, GA 31533.
