John George Kuhn (2) died ca. 1760/1

Son of John Kuhn (1) and Anna Barbara (___?)Kuhn

Married Catharine (Riffel) on 27 November 1744 in the presence of his parents, brothers and others. (GR, page 15; "Records", Volume 2, page 330).

The only directly recorded child of this union was George Jacob/James (3), baptized on 31 March 1746 (GR, page 10; "Records", Voume 2, page 325) who mararied Magdalen (Tapper/Dapper) on 3 May 1767, daughter of Christian Tapper. (GR, page 103; "Records", Volume 3, page page 380) and died without issue in Pikesville, Maryland. However, this last may pertain to his cousin Jacob Kuhn, son of Henry and Margaret (2) rather than to George Jacob (3). John George (2) undoubtedly had other chldren before his death which occurred about 1761 during the 18 years gap in the Records. I believe that among them were:

John Kuhn (3) brn. 1752 who married Therese (Fricker) born 1 May 1750 (GR, page 107; "Records", Volume 3, page 384) had at least eleven children, namely in order of birth: Catharine, Mary Magdalen, Theresa, Anna Mary (Polly), Judith, Elizabeth, Anna Appalonia, Margaret, John, Ann, and Joseph J.. They moved to Adams County about 1790 were John died 1 March 1826 and Therese died 20 April 1821 ("Collections", Volume 5, page 229; Adams County Will Book D, page 5, Probate File 1316; Goshenhoppen and Conewago Register, "Collections", Volume 4, page 156)

Barbara (Kuhn) Lochler (3) (John George 2, John 1) born not later than 1753 married John Lochler of Philadelphia on 9 June 1767 (GR, page 103; "Records", Volume 3, page 380) and moved to Lancaster County about 1789

Margaret Kuhn (3) (John George 2, John 1) born not later than 1757 married on 14 May 1771 Robert Owings of Conewago, Adams County (GR, page 104; "Records", Volume 3, page 381) and had 6 children.

Mary Eva Kuhn (3) (John George 2, John 1) born not later than 1754 married on 13 September 1768 to Nicholas Walter in the presence of "her mother and stepfather" (GR, page 103; "Records", Volume 3, page 380). (WK-book, page 559)

"I believe John George Kuhn (2) died about 1760/1 and his widow, Catharine (Riffel) Kuhn remarried to Joseph Ehrmann of Hereford Township, Berks County, certainly not later than October 1762 and probably earlier." (WK-book, page 559 quoted by William Kirkpatrick). On 12 July 1763, Catharine had a daughter, Appolonia Ehrmann. Appolonia Ehrmann died unmarried on 28 February 1801 in Adams County leaving a will. Her mother Anna Catharine (Riffel-Kuhn) Ehrmann born 30 April 1725 died 15 March 1799 and her father Joseph Ehrmann born 26 June 1735 died 13 July 1798 in Heidelberg Township, York County, probated 24 July 1798 names his wife Catharine; daughters Appolonia, Mary intermarried to Peter Klunk and Catharine intermarried to Anthony Trexel (i.e. Drexel) and designated "stepson, Jacob Kuhn" as one of his executors (York County Will Book I and J). Appolonia Ehrmann's will written March 1800 in Heidelberg Township, York County, probated 1801 Adams County referred to her sister Mary Klunk, deceased, identifying her sister Mary Klunk's 5 minor children by name and designates her "brother" (i.e. "stepbrother) Jacob Kuhn as her executor. (Adams County Will File; John T. Reily "Collections", Volume 4, page 56 and 130; Volume 5, pages 229). (WK-book, pages 559-560)
