Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - Mr. Walter Holmes McKenzie, 92, died Monday, July 26, 2004 and for the past six years had made his home with his daughter in Barnwell, SC.

Born in Wadley, GA, he was the son of the late Matthew and Bertha Smith McKenzie.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a retired employee of Fountain's Independent Oil Co. of Vidalia.

Survivors include: his wife, Clyde Yawn McKenzie of Barnwell, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Kearse, Barnwell, SC; granddaughter, Stephanie A. Christiansen of Aiken, SC; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Chris D. and Andrea Christiansen of Chapin, SC; great-grandchildren, Haley and Katie Christiansen of Chapen, SC; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday evening at Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell, SC.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2004 in The Pinecrest Cemetery, Vidalia, GA.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
