Survivors include five sisters, Lola Kennedy of Rector, Hazel Sloan of Memphis, Tenn., Daisy Stout of Pine Bluff, Mary Johnson of Bakersfield, Calif., Gertie Arnold of Fresno, Calif.; three brothers, Hubert Batten of Lunsford, Carlos Batten of Indigo, Calif.,and Oscar Batten of Pittsburgh, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Pine Log Cemetery with Wayne McDuffe officiating.
Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.

Alfred was the son of William G. and Margret Ramer Batten.
Willliam was first married to Hattie Roberts, they had one chid, Gertrude. Hattie died when Gertrude was just a small child.
Alfred's parents, grandparents and one brother are buried at Ramer's Cemetery.
They are all gone now, Hubert was the last sibling to pass on, he was the youngest child. My Dad, Henry, was the first child of William and Margret Ramer Batten, and he was the first to die. He is buried at Ramer's Chapel Cemetery in Greene County.
