Sarah M. Arnold of Albany died Friday at Peace of Mind Adult Foster Care Home. She was 94.
She was born in Lucas, Kan., the daughter of Albert and Clara Gableman Standley. She married Clifford Arnold on Aug. 29, 1926, in Lucas. She moved with her husband to Albany in 1937 and had lived there since.
She enjoyed working with her hands, and enjoyed church activities and watched children in the church nursery for many years.
She was a member of the First Evangelical Church and the World War I Veterans Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Arnold; son Walt Arnold and an infant son; and an infant grandson.
She is survived by her son Larry Arnold of Tualatin; daughters Avis Nelson of South Beach, Betty Grubb of Kent, Wash., and Mary Clemons of Bellingham, Wash.; sisters Helen Harris and Ilene Deatherage, both of Kansas; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 15, at Fisher Funeral Home. A service is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Fisher Funeral Home. The Rev. Percy McKnight will officiate.
Arrangements are by Fisher Funeral Home.
