He was born in Albany and served in the Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. He was a warehouse worker for Albany Ice & Cold Storage. He married Diane Perfect in 1967, and they divorced in 1997. He enjoyed riding his sand rail at the beach, old movies and welding.
Survivors include his sons, Shawn of Albany and Aaron of Troutdale; daughter, Lori Hays of Stayton; former wife, Diane Perfect of Albany; mother, Sarah Arnold of Albany; brother, Larry of Tualatin; sisters, Avis Nelson of South Beach, Betty Grubb of Kent, Wash., and Mary Clemens of Colorado; and six grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be 2 p.m. today at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens in Albany. Arrangements are by AAsum Funeral Home.
