Flora/Flohri: Origin is certain to be that of Italian, however, it is found in the Swiss-German areas in Ca: 1500. If Italian, it would be a derivitive of the city of Florence. Those who fled Italy usually took the surname of the city that they once lived. There are many variations of this name.

Notes:

Adam was killed in the Spring of 1849, by a falling tree.

The broken stone on the right is that of William A. Flora, 1850, son of Adam and Elizabeth. By using death dates, it would be safe to assume that the stone to the immediate left is that of Adam, 1849 and the one to the left of Adam would be Elizabeth, 1860. Both stones are red field stones which were typically used for head stones. No markings were found on the latter stones. The head stone to the right of William is that of a member of the Young family.
A probable reason why Adam had no stone, is that his estate had not been settled until shortly before William died, which would also explain why Elizabeth had no stone erected for herself and it is doubted that the living children had funds for them. It should be noted that Ann Amanda, who married Woodford Miller and also their daughter, died in 1855 and no stone has been found for her as well.

Adam arrived in Warren County in 1816, arriving with 16 other families who also migrated from Wythe County, Virginia. Among those families were the Alfords, Runners, Penners, Honakers, Millers, Smith and many other well known names that reside there today.

Adam and Elizabeth owned the property adjacent to and where the present day SDA Church is found at Sand Hill. All of their children were born on this property. This property wound around and was attached to the left back end of the Watt Property, near where this cemetery is located. The Watt property ended on the right side of where Adam's property began on the Sand Hill Rd.
