Funeral services for Basil Jones Alderman, 59, prominent resident of Keystone Heights, who died at his home there yesterday of pneumonia were held at the Melrose Cemetery at 11 a.m. today, with the Rev. T. B. Denham, officiating. Interment followed there.
Mr. Alderman was a native of Keystone Heights and had spent his entire life there. He is survived by a son, Basil J. Alderman, Jr., of Grandin, prominent West Putnam county stockman; a brother, Dr. J. H. Alderman, of Gainesville, and five sisters; Mrs. Daffie Fortner, of Melrose; Mrs. A. Mossman, of Morven, Ga.; Mrs. R. Lee Moore and Mrs. Mary J. Kennedy of Lake Geneva and Mrs. Susan L. Terry of Jacksonville. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Friday, 27 Sep 1935.)
