Mrs. John Burk Found Dead in her
Home Thursday Noon

Our citizens were again shocked when the news was spread over the city about noon Thursday, that Mrs. Anna Burk, widow of the late John Burk has been found dead, by the agent of the W. C. & W. depot. A light was noticed burning by the section crew all day Wednesday, but lit attention was given to it until Thursday, still noticing it, an investigation was made. The house was locked, and on forcing their way in, Mrs. Burk was found dead on the floor near her bed.
The Jury's inquest found that she had probably been dead about twenty-four hours. She wore her night clothes and it is the supposition that on arising Wednesday morning she was stricken with heart trouble or else she had in some manner fallen from the bed.
The daughter was lives in Iowa, was at once wired the sad news and funeral arrangements will await her arrival.
Mrs. Burk has lived alone since the sudden death of her husband only a few months ago, and her going so suddenly makes it indeed sad for her relatives and many friends.
A full obituary will appear next week.
