Daughter of Chester Stephen Staley and Emma Jane Mallory, the second of thirteen children in the family. They lived in Upton for eight years on a small farm. In 1900 they moved to Bedford, Wyoming, and lived with her Uncle Charles Mallory until chester was able to build a three-room log house. They lived in that house for the next seven years.They would go to church meetings in a white top buggy and in the winter, when there was enough snow, they traveled in a sleigh pulled by horses.

She was baptized as a member of the LDS church on Aug 2, 1902 in the canal at Bedford, WY.

At the age of 14 (1907), they moved to Smoot, WY

Married LeRoy Richardson Eskelson, 1 Apr 1914, Logan, Cache, Utah in the Logan Temple. They lived in Cove for a while then moved to Smoot, WY. In July 1917 they moved back to Cove, Utah
