OBITUARY, The Correctionville News, 17 October 1935, page 1: After a short illness, Mrs. Sarah Patterson of Sioux City passed to her eternal reward about 6 o'clock Friday afternoon. Sarah Jane Coon was born in Spring Green, Wisconsin, January 4, 1867, and passed away Friday, October 13, 1935, at he age of 78 years, 9 months and 7 days. She was married to David True in 1882 and lived in California a short period, returning to Iowa and living near Washta until Mr. True passed away, leaving his wife and 4 daughters. All survive their mother's death but one, Sylvia Wright. Later in life, Mrs. True was married to Henry Patterson who died a number of years later. Mrs. Patterson was a true Christian woman and was kind and loving to all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her death three daughters, Cecelia True and Wyreka Streeter of Sioux City, and Mrs. Lucy Conley of Corning; also two sisters and one brother, Mrs. John Kenyon, Mrs. Thomas Clark and Mr. Reese Coon, all of Correctionville. Funeral services were held in the Church of Christ in Correctionville with Rev. Milton W. Dills, the minister, in charge at 1 o'clock Monday, October 21, and burial was made in Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon.
