Funeral services celebrating the life of Irma Dean Lewing will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 4, 2010 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home-Vivian Chapel, Vivian, La. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Beeman, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, Vivian, La. Interment will follow at the Vivian Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lewing was born August 21, 1937 to John and Audie Upchurch in Mena, Ark and passed away on January 2, 2010 at North Caddo Medical Center in Vivian after a brief illness. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Mrs. Lewing was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul Lewing, sons, Rickey Cornwell and Paul Lewing, Jr, brothers, Joe Upchurch, Bill Upchurch, and J.D. Upchurch. She is survived by sons, James Cornwell and wife Debra of Smackover, Ar, David Cornwell of Mooringsport, La, Robert Cornwell and wife, Amy of Stephens, Ar, daughter, Lorrie LaCaze and husband, Greg of Vivian, La. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Gaylord Upchurch and wife, Mary of Vivian, La, Albert Upchurch and wife, Mable of Vivian, La, Ada Stanford of Vivian, La, Johnnie Faye Hale and husband, Frank of Vivian, La, Josephine Parker and husband, John of Shreveport, La, Tiny Johnson of Ravanna, Ar, sisters in-law, Betty Upchurch and Sadie Mae Upchurch both of Atlanta, Tx. Sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brent Cornwell, Ryan Cornwell, Jared Cornwell, Matt Cornwell, James LaCaze, II, Kyle Cornwell, Tim Riley, Curtis Green, and Norman Carter.
