Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Ithaca with Father Ederer officiating. Burial will be in Ithaca Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Kidney Foundation.
Deborah was born Aug. 28, 1955, in Alma, the daughter of James Ernest and Freda Joan (Peet) Abell.
She graduated from Ithaca High School in 1973. She worked at Wolverine World Wide for 10 years, went to Ross Medical for two years, worked at SPX Contech in Alma and worked at ITT for three years. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Ithaca. She enjoyed taking care of nieces and nephews and family, golfing, canoeing, bowling, walking outdoors and attending Alabama concerts. But her specialty was being there when needed.
She is survived by her parents, James and Joan Abell of Ithaca; four brothers, Thomas (Gloria) Abell of Alma, James Jr. (Betty) Abell of Breckenridge, Joseph (Tina) Abell of Sumner and Jerry (Teresa) Abell of Ithaca; three sisters, Linda (Rod) McDonald of Ithaca, Mary (Gary) Howerton of Lansing and Julie Abell of Ithaca; 17 nieces and nephews; special cousin Darlene Kraus; two great-nieces, and one great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan.
