According to my records, William was the 9th of twelve children born to Reuben C. and Mariah Ann Hill Donnell. William's siblings were Rufus; Daniel Washington; Elizabeth; Anna; John; Jacob; Peter C.; Albert F.; Samuel; Robert E.L.; and Mary Ebney Donnell.

William married Mary Emma Martin Truss in about 1897. They were blessed with William Abner and Berwyn Virginia Donnell.

William is the great-grandfather to Lyle Donald Sorensen and Robert Eugene Sorensen.
