Thomas Jordan (1935-2009)

Thomas R. Jordan, 74, of Ironton died Wednesday at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.

He was born Feb. 4, 1935.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Crance Jordan.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hayes-Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton. Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery. A Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and Military Rites will be conducted by VFW Post 8850.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Ave., Columbus, OH 43201 or the American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd. Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.

Thomas R. Jordan 74, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. The Wayne County, WV native was born February 4, 1935 the son of the late William H. and Elizabeth Maynard Jordan. He is survived by his wife Laura Crance Jordan whom he married April 23, 1953.

Mr. Jordan attended Coal Grove Schools and was a Air Force Korean War Veteran. Mr. Jordan also worked for Hess Chemical Company as a truck driver for 31 years and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by:
son: Johnny Ray Jordan
five brothers: William H. Jordan Jr., Bruce Jordan, Franklin Jordan, R.D. Jordan, and Lucian Jordan
sister: Gleneta Finley

In addition to his wife he is survived by:
two daughters and sons-in-laws: Pamela and David Hatfield of Amesville, OH and Nancy and Ray Bishop of Mendenhall, MS

three sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas R. and Jo Jordan Jr. of Fort Worth, TX, William A. and Susan Jordan Ironton, OH, and Shane K. and Kelli Jordan of Albany, OH

three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Jim and Sherry Jordan of Lynn Haven, FL, and Patrick and Renaute Jordan of Coal Grove, OH and Dan Jordan.

and ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Hayes-Phillips Funeral Home, 509 South Sixth Street , Ironton, OH with Pastor Todd Wallace and Minister Jim Williams officiating.

Burial to follow in Zoar Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, 6-8PM at the funeral home.

A Masonic service will be at 7:00pm Friday at the funeral home and Military Rites will be conducted by VFW Post #8850.
