Arlo Childs, died at Wayne yesterday morning of membranous croup; he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nat Childs and was born at Wakefield, October 1889, when his parents were residents of this place. The funeral was from the Presbyterian church, Wakefield, yesterday afternoon at 4 p.m. and the remains were laid to rest in the village cemetery by the side of those of a little girl who has gone before. The funeral discourse wwas preached by Rev. Pearson, and the services were attended by many sympathizing friends and neighbors.

Death of Little Arlo Childs
The angel of death hovered over the heretofore happy home of Nat Childs on Tuesday morning, and when he departed, took with him the spirit of litle ARLO, the only son, the idol of his parents, the pet of his sister, and on whom the heartstrings of all seemed centered. He was only taken sick on Friday, apparently with a bad cold, but which developed into membranous croup, and although the little fellow made a heroic fight for life, it was all in vain, and he died on Tuesday, April 26th, in the arms of his devoted mother. Little Arlo was born at Wakefield, Oct. 18, 1889. A short funeral service was held at the house Wednesday afternoon by Rev. A. F. Ernst, and the remains were taken to Wakefield for internment. Loving hands literally covered the little casket with flowers, artistically designed and arranged. The sympathy of all their many friends will be with Mr. Childs and his family in the sad bereavement which has come to them like a thunderbolt from the sky.
