Mrs. Bernice Barham Southard, 91, formerly of Golden Gate Drive, died Sunday September 6, 2009, at Countryside Manor.
Mrs. Southard's funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, at Liberty Wesleyan Church, with Rev. David Surrett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A Guilford County native, Mrs. Southard was born on May 1, 1918, the daughter of the late William J. and Molly Barham Barham. She was a long-time member of Liberty Wesleyan Church and, in her earlier years, worked as a seamstress.
Surviving are her daughter Kathy Cocklereece, and her husband, Ken, of Summerfield, son John W. Southard, and his wife, Marie, of Warrensville, a brother James C. Barham of Summerfield, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin Southard, son Calvin Southard, Sr., brother Raymond Barham, and sisters Mabel Fagg and Gertie Parrish.
