Bertha was one of several children born to Seddi and Sophia Ferris. When Bertha was quite young, her parents owned a dry goods store in downtown Austin. She was married to a Mr. Gonzales and they had a daughter, Eleanor. She later married John Henry Booth, Jr. in about 1925 - 1926 and they had 2 sons: John Ferris Booth and Donald V. Booth. Bertha then married Mr. Violas Davis and together they operated the Alamo Cafe in Austin for many years.
