Cora or "Cory" as she was called by her family was the daughter of Andrew and Catherine Parmer Baker. She grew up in Franklin County, Indiana where she met her future husband.

On February 18, 1891 she was married to George C. Haman son of Rudolph & Anna Longe Hamann. Although Cora and George never had children of their own they took in foster children and adopted one as their own in 1894. Leah Caldwell was born in August of 1894, and when she was five weeks old, they adopted her. Leah later married Albert Linder and had a son who she named George Eugene Linder, a named for her father.

Cora & George also took care of their parents in their later years and were known for always helping those less fortunate.

George died in 1929 at the age of 61, but Cora lived to the age of 91 and died on Saturday March 31, 1962. She is buried next to her husband, George Haman, in the Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

(In 1954, I visited Aunt Cora who was my gr-grandfather's sister-in-law when my grandmother and I went on trip to Indiana. Aunt Cora was living with her daughter, Leah, in Greenville at that time. I remember that she was a tiny, frail woman with a beautiful smile.)
