Charles Ball, 43, of Sumner, an employe of the Babcock & Wilcox plant here, died Tuesday about 4:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital after a heart attack at home. He was born in Lamar County, Feb. 5, 1927, and was a World War II Coast Guard veteran, serving in the North Atlantic.

Friends will be received between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Wednesday at Leverett & Steele Funeral Home where chapel service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Ball leaves his wife, the former Gayle Wisely whom he married July 31, 1945 in Hugo, Okla.; his foster parents, Y.A. Ball of Lubbock, and Mrs. Ada Reeves, now of Paris; three children: Bob Ball, Miss Ginger Ball and Mrs. Phil Harris, and a grandchild, Delesha Lynn Harris, all of Sumner; a sister, Mrs. Margie Spurgeon, Dallas, and a foster sister, Mrs. Bettie Robins of Austin.

Last rites for Charles Ball, 43, of Sumner, were conducted Thursday at Leverett & Steele Funeral Home here by the Rev. Edwin Davis and the Rev. Max Barton, burial being made in Evergreen Cemetery. Bearers were Alton Harris, Max Scott, Paul Nash, Russell Sowle, Allen Carter and Jerald Barham.

Mr. Ball, a Babcock & Wilcox plant employe, died Tuesday in a hospital here.
