Mrs. Barbara Kosar, one of the pioneers of the Bohemian settlement at this place, died Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jacob Taha, near here. Funeral services were held at the Taha home at 11 o'cock a.m. Friday and burial was made in the Bohemian cemetery. The service was conducted by Joseph Duben, mostly in the Bohemian language and a selected quartet rendered hymns in both English and Bohemian languages. The offerings of flowers were abundant and beautiful. Six grandsons: Ed, John, Will, George, Frank and Joe Taha, served as pallbearers. Mrs. Kosar was about 75 years of age. She came to this country from her native land, Bohemia, while still a young woman, and has lived on a farm near here for about 40 years, until during her last illness of over a year's duration, when she was taken to the home of her daughter for better care. Her husband passed from this life several years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss one daughter, Mrs. Anna Taha, north of Prescott, and three sons, James, of the Nevinville bank force; Joseph, on the home farm, and John, living north of Williamson, also a number of grandchildren and other relatives. The sympathy of friends is freely extended to the relatives.

Mrs. Barbara Kosar passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jacob Taha, at 5:30 in the evening, Wednesday of last week, her death occurring from complaints relating to old age. Barbara Maresh was born in Bohemia in 1840, and at the time of her death was aged 77 years, 2 months and one day. While still a young girl she was united in marriage to John Kosar and in 1878 she, with her husband and family came to American and settled on a farm near Williamson. She is survived by three sons and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Taha of Prescott; John of Orient, James of Nevinville; and Joseph of Williamson. One daughter, Mary, and a son Frank, preceded the mother in death several years ago. The funeral was held from the home, after short services and the remains were laid to rest in the Bohemian cemetery south of Williamson beside her husband, who passed away in 1911. Mrs. Kosar leaves besides her children, twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren and a large number of friends and relatives who are left to mourn the loss of this highly respected old lady.
