Mrs. George Catching was a very active member in the Springfield community. She belonged to many associations, clubs, and the American Red Cross, to name a few. This likely was partly because her husband was often away on business for extended periods of time. Working at mines, log mills, other types of mills, etc. Installing and repairing equipment. She was a sponsor of bringing the Red Cross to this part of the state. She helped in supporting many community actives. Food and clothing drives. Supporting the war effort for WWI.
Meda Catching was very outgoing lady and cared about her neighbors needs. They were also very active in their local church.
Her life was not blessed with children of her own.
