James J. Rooks died Saturday, July 28, 1962 at the Douglas hospital. Mr. Rooks was born at Ellen, S.D. on Dec. 18, 1892. He had lived here 14 years. Survivors include his wife, Josephine; two sons, John of Casper and Eugene of Douglas; three daughters, Mrs. Isabelle Pourier of Interior, S.D., Mrs. Elaine Tony and Mrs. Lucille Parker of Douglas; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; one brother, William of Hermorsa, S.D.; 6 sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Livermont, Martin, S.D.; Mrs. Nancy Peck, Pine Ridge, S.D.; Mrs. Delia Amiott, Wamblee, S.D.; Mrs. Clara Smith, Pierre, S.D.; Mrs. Catherine Pope of Long Beach, Cal.; and Rosaeanna Allen, Martin, S.D. (Information was obtained from his obituary in the Douglas Budget Aug. 2, 1962 by Betty Alberts, FAG Member #47293729.)
