Henry Arthur Middleton, 67, died Tuesday afternoon in the Memorial medical Center after a long illness. The lifelong resident of Long County was a retired carpenter.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Loretta Pye of Hinesville; four sons, Frank S. Middleton, Gary Middleton, Larry Middleton, and Wilford Middleton all of Ludowici; four sisters, Mrs. Mary M. King, and Mrs. Gussie Sanders both of Jacksonville Florida, Mrs. Minnie Lee Williams of Glennville, and Ila Driggers of Lakeland, Georgia; four brothers, Willis Middleton of Townsend, Victor Middleton of Everett, Curtis Middleton of Jacksonville Florida, and Alexander Middleton of Guyton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday in the Middleton Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. Virgil McCrary officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Gene Middleton, Sumner Harrison, Clary Davis, James Middleton, A.C. Gordon, and Leonard Walters. Honerary pallbearers will be E.S. GcGowan, Clyde Gordon, Tyron Shaw, Harry Russell, Cecil Nobles, Richard D. Phillips, Robert M. Milton, Tom E. Dawson, Melvin Hutcheson, Sammy Stapleton, Randall Hope, Duey Nail, Oliver Poppell, Gilbert Walters, and Thomas Rozier.
The body will be taken to the residence this afternoon at 4:00 pm, and burial will be in the Church Cemetery under the direction of Nesmith-Harrison Funeral Home.
