Evelyn M. Huser, 84, 209 E. 12th, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at the Hays Medical Center. She was born May 4, 1914, in Hays to Peter and Philomena (Rupp) Jacobs.
She married Fred J. Huser on Sept. 23, 1944, in Hays. He died July 17, 1980.
She was a 1932 graduate of Girls Catholic High School, Hays. She was the owner and manager of Hays Coca-Cola, taking over the business from her parents. She sold the company in 1975. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, church altar society, Christian Mothers and the Third Order of St. Francis, all in Hays.
Survivors include two sons, Fred, Dallas, and Bernard, Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Marie Wasinger, Hays, Barbara Spaccamonti, Pueblo, Colo., and Paula Huser, Hays; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Michael Dennis, and a brother, Elmer J. "Bus" Jacobs.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Michael Suchnicki officiating; burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Brock´s North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine. An altar society and Christian Mothers rosary is at 3:30 p.m., a Third Order of St. Francis service at 4 p.m., and a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m., all today at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Holy Family Elementary School or Thomas More Prep-Marian High School.
